Spring Break

Pardon me while I try and figure out this new Blogger format.    My daughter is on spring break so I get a bit of reprieve on chauffeuring.  I'm still working with them on driving, they take their tests to get their licenses this month.  Keep your fingers crossed!

I was busy going through my lace stash yesterday looking for vintage laces to use for my quiltie.  I love making these!  This one measures something like 7" x 12" and then I did a little yellow cq ACEO.  They're both in my Etsy shop:

Oh and I ran across the awesome heart shaped brooch and doily and of course had to take photos before I cut that up.   I also found a heart shape in the cat litter this morning but decided I had better spare you on that.  :)

Playtime!

Well I finally got off the computer and played! I made some clay faces and played with my new stencils and Ranger spray ink! The top photo should be flipped with the roses to the left but I still haven't gotten my Photoshop reloaded... It was on my computer and then it wasn't. Anyway, the roses are a watercolor sketch I did and then I painted clear gesso over them and thought it would allow me to wipe the ink away there... Oh well. Now I have some very cool background pages for journaling. (I don't like people to be able to read my journal if I'm writing about personal stuff. When I was younger someone read my diary, the excuse was so they would know whose it was. So ever since then when I journal I shred it or in this case I will paint over it or collage over it).

So, what does everyone think of Pinterest? I'm not too sure about it. I've been wary of it since the beginning. Someone lifted a tutorial off my blog and put it on Pinterest without my permission. Even though I have a statement on the sidebar that everything is copyrighted. That kind of ticked me off so I erased that blog post. It's a great inspiration but a huge waste of time! So what do you think? Do you like it?

Well I miss Pinterest, and I've decided it's a great way to advertise so I'm going back.  Not sure if I want people pinning things from my blog but I'll  play that by ear.

I am still chauffeuring and giving driving lessons so during the week there isn't much time to play. But I'm hoping to do better and get back into blogging. Remember when we all used to go around and blog hop? That was so inspiring! So I'm going to do that instead of get on Pinterest!

A new journal

I've been taking some of the lovely Ms. Suzi Blu's classes and this is a journal I just made with Goog's tutorial. Actually I made it a few months ago but just finished the cover. Now to fill it up! If you've never taken one if Suzi's classes you might want to check it out. She's a fabulous and fun teacher!

I also need to be finishing up my sketchbook for The Sketchbook Project Ltd. Edition! It's due in April.

It's done!!!

Ta-Da!!! It is done!!! I really need to practice my free motion sewing more, I ended up getting major wrinkles in the back (again), my feed dogs came back up when I shut the machine off and I didn't realize it. So once again I had to rip all that out and redo.

I just finished sewing on the sleeve and my label and will be adding it to my Etsy shop in a few days.

And now I can start another one and work on some other things I've been wanting to do! I saw some awesome clay heads the other day on FB so I'm working on trying to sculpt some, it looks much easier than it actually is!!! I'm ready to clear out an area of the garage and fire up my clay oven!!!

Hey peeps! I'm still here! I'm learning to work on a Mac, long story short, I got a trojan on my computer and they hacked my Ebay and were buying stuff.

So now I've just learned how to get a photo onto my blog. I'm feeling like that old dog that you can't teach new tricks....

Okay, so are any of you into digital art a little or a lot? I want to get Adobe Photoshop, but there are so many different ones, I don't know which one I want. I just want to be able to crop my photos easier and also I'd like to be able to do some simple digi art, like placing one photo over the other and maybe a little more detailed than that. I know the Photoshop Essentials 10 doesn't do enough... anyone know which one I should get? I don't want to get the basic and then realize I should have gotten the other one, so anyway let me know what ya think. Once I get this figured out I'll hopefully be posting more!

I finally made some art!

Hey peeps! Well I haven't done any stamping in awhile and I am out of practice! I looked at this tag this morning and decided I didn't use enough layers or texture. I just got the new steam punk sheet from Oxford Impressions - love it!!!! And I also made a new bright yellow quiltie that's in my etsy shop.

I have been having a time with my muse, or the lack of it. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with my thyroid being totally wacked out and having the medicine adjusted etc. Seems the higher the dose they put me on the more tired I get.

Well anyway, I'm trying to be a better blogger but I may just have to blog without obligation for a bit, I'll play it by ear.

Well I've finally figured it out! Don't fight the muse! If the muse wants to play with fabric let her! If you don't let her do what she wants she will just go away and leave you high and dry! She is a spoiled one, my muse! I've been wanting to do some rubber stamping and she just is not into that right now. Hmmm, maybe I can trick her by stamping on fabric.... :D
