My heart is broken

How very apropos, I found this broken heart rock several months ago, possibly even longer.  Little did I know that my heart would be broken mid April.   That is when I said goodbye to my best friend and husband of 25+ years.   I miss him so much!  It seems like he's just on a really long business trip and he'll be coming home any time...

He was waiting to get a bone marrow transplant, he had a very rare disease- meylofibrosis.  Unfortunately he didn't get it in time.  It all happened so fast, we were all in shock.  I think we still are.

I'm hoping to get back into my art and blogging, but I guess we'll play that by ear...  I will also be moving back to Colorado in about a year.  I carry him in my heart and miss him constantly.

Stencils and thank you and another update on hubby

Hi all, thank you for all the well wishes and prayers for Frank!  He does have pneumonia.  He also has a team of doctors that don't always agree...  He'll be there awhile apparently.  They won't let him go until he is over the pneumonia.  I had to stay home today because I'm coming down with my daughter's cough and crud.  Poor guy is getting stuck twice a day, for blood samples.  Almost every time they take blood it leaves a big bruise because his platelets are so low.   They're giving him transfusions - blood and platelets almost every day, trying to get his counts up.   The bone marrow usually does that job, but because of his disease it's full of scar tissue and can't.  They're hoping to get his platelets up from 4,000 to 50,000 so they can put in a port, that way they can give him shots and take blood through that.  Please continue praying for him.  They can't give him the transfusion until he is over this and well, so it might put it off for 4-6 weeks.  This has been such a long drawn out process, and we haven't even started!  Once he gets the transplant that's just the beginning of another long journey to getting better and get the new bone marrow making cells for him...

Thank you Lynn for this beautiful book of watercolor postcards at the top.  Isn't that gorgeous?!!!  She embellished it for me and I love it!

I got a little bit of playtime yesterday and played with my stencils and spray acrylics.  The black to the right is a stencil I made!  I was over at Jane LaFazio's blog and reading how she takes apart two 9x12 Strathmore journals, one watercolor and one mixed media, and mixes up the sheets into one journal.  I did it and it's so cool!  It's so much nicer to have bigger sheets to play on!  I love my Moleskine but I may start using this full time!

And now to fill it with watercolor sketches and mixed media pieces!

Spring is here, finally, and update on hubby

Hi all, wanted to update you on hubby's condition.  He has myelofibrosis and needs a bone marrow transplant.  The doctor we have been working with may not be able to do it because Frank is considered high risk because of his age and the disease he has.  If they won't do it we have to go to a different hospital, after 2 -4 visits with this hospital.  :(  God forbid they should run the risk of ruining their stats!!!

He's really tired all the time and he has to go in for transfusions once to twice a week now while we're waiting...  we could use all the prayers and good thoughts we can get.  Thanking you in advance.

So my muse has been very scarce lately.  It came back with a vengeance the other day but there were other things I needed to do...
And so it goes.  I will try to post more often and see how that works out.

Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Easter and Happy Spring!!!

New Rubber!!!

Hey all!  Just got some new stamps from Stampers Best!!!  I saw the Charlie Chaplin one in Somerset Studio and tracked it down to Stampers Best!  And while I was there I had to get the Clara Bow, chandelier and the Steampunk lady!!!  And they sent me two free stamps!  How fun!!!

Inspired!

I've been inspired by Art by Wiley on Facebook and Jane LaFazio!  It's been awhile!  I think from now on I'll be posting all of my art on this blog, including my sketching and painting.  Less complicated.

My muse has been missing with hubby being sick but he's been in the hospital this week while they're running a lot of tests so I took the chance to buy some roses and sketch tonight.  He's been neutropenic so we can't have fresh flowers around him.  We're still waiting to see who is going to do the bone marrow transplant, since he is high risk the hospital that we started with may not give the okay to do his transplant and we may have to go elsewhere.  But I won't even go off on that rant...  We'd really appreciate any prayers you'd like to send our way.

Anyway, I'm hoping to get a tiny bit of time to squeeze in some art...  So I'll post when I can.

New watercolor quilt

I don't like the new layout, the photos are too small.... unless you click on them...  tempted to switch back to the classic format...

Well anyway, here another watercolor quilt that I just finished.  I decided to do a cat this time instead of a bird and then I had to figure out what the cat would be sitting on.  This is what I came up with.  I like it!  I have this listed in my Etsy shop and I'm ready to start another one!

We still haven't found out anything about hubby and he continues to need transfusions.  Thank God for insurance!  But still the co pays are really high.  Such  is life.  So it's back to work I go, for now I'll be working from home but may try and get on at JoAnn Fabric or somewhere else.  Apparently no one out here hires full time!  How weird!

Well thanks so much for stopping by and have an awesome week!!!

New journals and prayer request

Hi all, I have been making journals!  These are a blast to make!  And even more fun to journal in!  I have listed these two in my Etsy shop:

http://www.purplepaint.etsy.com/

I made each of my daughters one of these for Christmas.

And now for a prayer request - my hubby Frank is not doing too well, he has something wrong with his blood, they're not sure what - not cancer or leukemia, thankfully.  But his red and white blood counts are really low, as are his platelets.  He's had 2 transfusions in the past few weeks and will probably have to have another one this week or next.  Hopefully we'll get some answers soon, but if you could keep him in your prayers for God to heal him we would sure appreciate it.   And now you know why I haven't been blogging much, my muse is hard to find these days....
