I have the attention span of a gnat!

Thought I should do a post before January is over, it's getting close.  I'm ready for Spring!!!  Wish we could just do Spring and Fall...

Anyway,  some recent sketches in last year's Hobonichi Techo, I'm now working in my 2020 Hobonichi Techo and can't wait until it starts getting chunky!  I love chunky journals!

Sorry, not sorry if this offends you.  I can't help but make fun of him, he brings it on himself.

A recent sunrise.

And I just recently discovered altered Rolodex cards!  I guess I was in the middle of moving back and forth across the country when this was going on, so I'm doing it now anyway!  I just think it looks so awesome having a Rolodex full of arted up cards!  Check it out on Pinterest!

And I recently ran across photos of "crumb quilts!"  Where they use the tiniest pieces of fabric to make a quilt.  I don't know as I'll go that small but I decided to start making some scrappy squares:

And now you see why I say I have the attention span of a gnat?  Lol!

That's all for this time, hope this inspires you to go do something creative!

I'm back!!! Happy Holidays!

Well,  after a couple of months off,  thinking  I would just shut down my blog, I decided to keep it up.  There have been quite a few times I've seen some awesome, inspiring art on Pinterest and followed it to a blog, or sometimes the blog has sadly been shut down....  So I decided to keep mine up!

And so, yes of course I'm still doing art!  As long as I'm breathing...

I've been wishing I could get another golden retriever.  I had one years ago and she had a stroke 6 weeks after my husband passed away.   I did this sketch in my Hobonichi back in September.

l've been doing a lot of sketches in my Hobonichi, trying to chunk it up.  :)  I love chunky books!

And well, I just can't resist!  Sorry, not sorry.  He seriously sets himself up.  And NO,   I did not vote for him so he's not my fault!  Lol!

And occasionally I still work in sketchbooks.

Next time I post I'll catch you up on more recent work.

Now get busy and go make some art!!!!

Yay it's finally fall!!

Maybe it's just me but it seemed like this summer was brutal!  It was so hot, and humid and the mosquitoes were awful!!!  Personally I think Mother Nature is paying us back for all the horrible things we've done to her.

I have been working in my Hobonichi and it's getting chunky!  If you're not familiar with it it's a diary type book that has the most amazing paper - Tomoe River Paper.  You can use fountain pens on it and it doesn't bleed through.  Pretty cool!

I've been mostly working in my A6 Techo size, so I'm getting better at doing small sketches with pen and ink and watercolor.

I started doing the Hobonichi challenge in August and kept that up almost every day.

I love chunky journals and mine is getting there.  Next year I hope to work in it every day so that it is super chunky by the end of the year!

And I need to find time to get to my artsy stuff, quilting, etc.

Hope I've helped inspire you.  Now it's your turn, go make some art!

New junk journals!

I just listed some traveler's notebook size junk journals in my Etsy shop!  These fit into a regular TN cover or can be used on their own.  These are so much fun to make, and can be used for photo albums, travel journals, daily journals, whatever you like.

I like to add photos and stamped images, plus all kinds of different patterned papers to write on and tuck in.  Plus I include some extra pieces in with each.

Dog days of summer...

I am realizing why they call them the dog days of summer - it's just too hot and humid to do anything!  Bleh!

I have been getting a bit of art done, not as much as I'd like.  I miss the days when I used to have SO many creative ideas and was always doing some kind of art, usually several different mediums at once.

Here's a sketch I did awhile back

I recently discovered that scrap quilts are now called crumb quilts and they are really fun!  Just to use up all your scraps.  I started and got a couple of squares done.

I guess I am working on several different things when I can.  Unfortunately not on a daily basis right now.

I've been trying to work more in my Hobonichi.  Love the paper!  This is one of the blank pages that I missed journaling.

I hope you all are getting to have lots of creative time!  I have shut my blog down several times after being linked to sites I don't want to be linked with...

I ran across a blog today that I had never seen, and thought I really should get mine back up and going.  So I'll give it a try!

Maybe it will inspire all us!

Spring, summer, winter, summer, spring....

It's May!  Totally weird weather!

I have been getting a little art done.   I of course have spring fever, I get it right after Christmas of course, smile.  So that means houseplants!!!  And I love to sketch them.  I need to get back to doing a lot more sketching!

And I always love to paint my palettes!  This was one of my last sketches in my Sketchbook Project book that I've sent off.  And seed packets.  I paint seed packets all winter!

I'll probably be painting a lot more photos with seed packets, we haven't been able to plant much with the temps dropping down to 38 and 40 still.  We'll see how the gardens turn out this year.

It's May 23rd and the weather is all over the place!!!   Just had the latest snow I ever remember in Colorado.  And we keep getting down to 40 at night, at the end of May.  And some people still don't believe in "Climate Change".  But I won't go off on a political rant.

Anyway, I hope I inspired you to do some art!  Have an awesome week, month....  will post again when I can.

Hello Spring!!!!

Spring is here!!!!  Boing, boing, boing!!!!  (picture Tigger).  I love spring!!!

Totally missed March, sorry about that.  Hope you're all having a lot of creative electricity going on in your lives.  I've been having a hard time finding mine lately.  But I will!

I have done a couple of sketches, not nearly enough.  No I'm not a Buddhist, I just find his face so relaxing to look at.  This is a quick sketch I did in my Traveler's Notebook.

Had a Mike's hard lemonade for my birthday.  Drink responsibly, and don't drink and drive!

And of course spring fever hit hard!  I'm ready!  And then we had snow.

And I have even more seed packets!  We can't plant here until after Mother's Day (mid May).  Never know when we'll get a late snow and freeze.  Be prepared to see a  lot more seed packets!  :)

I guess I need to move further south.  I'm so glad winter is over!!!  I've said it before and I'll say it again, I wish we could have only 1 month of winter, 1 month of summer, and the rest of the time could be Spring and Fall!!!  That would be awesome!  Unfortunately I have no control over the weather.

I'm working on junk journals, a watercolor quilt, sketching and all that.  Not getting a lot done, my job keeps me busy.  But trying to sneak in some art time here and there.

Hope I've inspired you to go do some art yourself!
