Finally!!!! Just finished pinning my quilt! This one I'm keeping! I have been so distracted! In a good way, but still distracted. If you're reading this YOU know who you are! :D
I need to get busy on my Sketchbook Project sketchbook also! I still have 31 spreads to go!!! And it's due in January... sometime...
Life has been busy in a good way. I'd like to start doing more photography also... we'll see. Can we get more hours in the day?

And I've been meaning to take a photo of this really gnarly maple tree! There are some huge ones downtown that I need to get photographed. Maybe I'll do some sketches of these for my SP book. And as I was photographing this tree, what did I see? Do you see it? I've been looking at the ground for heart shaped rocks as a sign for something personal going on in my life. I was looking in the wrong direction!!!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Feel free to leave a comment, sometimes I feel like I'm talking to myself here....

Yes I know, I'm swamped de-cluttering, de-stashing and getting the house ready to sell but I just had to jump in and do the 2014 Sketchbook Project again! This will be my third year!!! I didn't do it last year. Hopefully it will get me going and sketching again! I'm really kind of excited to do it! I got it just in time to do some fall leaves paintings!
As usual, the paper they use it too thin for watercolor, and I like to make mine thicker so.... I tore it apart, revamped the cover, made new pages out of heavy watercolor paper, different weights and textures. Now I just need to hurry up and decide what I'm going to do for the cover so I can do that and then bind it and get to work sketching!
If you want to find out more check it out here:
And don't tell me you can't draw, everyone can draw!!! You could draw when you were a kid! Go for it!

I had to run in and put on my boots, grab my camera and run into the woods this morning to catch the sun shining through the trees! See the humidity? It does make for a gorgeous photo though. The second shot is my view out the back door, the last shows my house and the neighbors house. Notice how tall these trees are!!! I will miss all the green when I move back to Colorado, but I will have the sunshine and mountains! Can't wait!!!!!!

Ever have that feeling that if you don't do some art you're going to explode? I feel much better now!!!
I grabbed these out of the garden the other day while I was raking, good thing because now it's been raining for... two days? I don't know, I lose track, rainy days just seem to blur together. Of course I guess the good thing about rain is that I don't have to rake. I'll have to venture out tomorrow in the rain and find some orange/red leaves to draw.
I'd love to build a blanket fort and stay holed up drawing all weekend! Maybe I will...
Thanks for stopping by, now it's your turn, go do some art!

Fall is here! I love fall, although in the northeast there is a LOT of leaf raking going on!!! The way they do it out here, if you have a bit of forest on your property, you rake them onto a big tarp and then drag it into the woods and dump it. If you don't have any forest you have to bag them, thank God part of our property is in the forrest! And did I mention how huge these trees are?!!! Seriously! This is one of the oaks out front, I held the camera out at about hip high to try and show you just how massive these trees are!!! Notice all the green leaves still on the tree? I'll be raking for the next month or two. And I had to show you this really gnarly, gross smelling fungus that comes up every year. This is probably about 10" x 10". Things grow really big at low altitude!!!
Thanks for stopping by, hopefully next time I'll have some leaf paintings to show you!!!
